November 5, 1924: "The Porter-Carstens Logging company, a corporation, has sold to the Union Lumber company its railroad line located on the north fork of the Clackamas river. The consideration was $131,000." (Halsey Enterprise)
January 15, 1925: "The Porter-Carsten Logging Company began operations last Monday morning after a few weeks shut down. A special train of three cars took in a crew last Sunday. This company offers work to a large number of men and it is reported that they plan to carry on the work more extensively this year than before.
