September 20, 1924: "Fire which broke out during Saturday in the camp of the Flora Logging company, 15 miles west of Yamhill, is said to have destroyed 11 donkey engines and several thousand feet of timber felled and cut. The damage estimated at more than $100,000. The fire was thought to be under control but was reported Sunday to be again raging across two sections of green timber and putting the entire camp in great danger of destruction." (The Advocate)
September 24, 1924: "Workmen of the Flora Logging company are busy repairing damage done to the company's holdings west of Carlton by fire. Equipment damaged included 12 donkey engines, of which all can be repaired except one, on which a tree fell. About a mile of roadway, including three trestles, was burned over. The fire burned over about two square miles of logged-off land, doing no damage to standing timber." (Halsey Enterprise)
