October 11, 1900: "The Nipper saw mill at Williams has been shut down for a few days but is now in full blast again. The heavy rain softened the roads so it was impossible for the teamsters to haul logs to the mill." (Weekly Rogue River Courier)
October 18, 1900: "The Nipper mill at Williams is to supply 30,000 feet of lumber for the Sterling mine. The mine is being put in shape for the season's run." (Weekly Rogue River Courier)
December 20, 1900: "The Sunset Telephone company is preparing to put in a telephone line from Grants Pass to Williams and has already awarded the contract for furnishing the poles to W. R. Nipper who will cut them at his mill. Grants Pass will be bound by telephonic communication to her superb of Williams in the not far distant future." (Weekly Rogue River Courier)
September 5, 1901: "Rev. Joel Hedgepath of Williams, had the misfortune to cut his right hand badly last Wednesday while working at Nipper's saw mill." (Weekly Rogue River Courier)
April 24, 1902: "The Nipper saw mill at Williams will begin sawing lumber about the first of May and logging operations have already been commenced. This mill employs about 20 men and has a daily capacity of 12,000 to 15,000 feet. Last year it supplied about 500,000 feet of lumber to the S. P. D. & L. Co., besides supplying the local trade."
