Clackamas County - 10 miles east of Estacada
September 16, 1904: "Linn Brothers, who own a sawmill 10 miles northeast of this place (Estacada), have just shipped from here a carload of the finest quality of lumber ever seen in this section of the state. The firm owns a large tract of timber land near their mill and now has on hand a very large assortment of finishing lumber. The timber from which it is sawed is of a variety called by timbermen 'silver fir,' and is of lighter color and finer grain than the yellow fir. A number of experienced lumbermen and carpenters saw the lumber as it was being loaded and all pronounced it the best they had seen in the state. The shipment went to Oregon City." December 4, 1904: "John Linn of the firm of Linn Bros., proprietors of the large saw and planing mill 10 miles east of Estacada was here transacting business Saturday. April 19, 1906: "John Linn who has spent the winter at his old home in Illinois returned home last week. He will be at the mill this summer. It is their intention, as soon as possible now, to haul their present stock of lumber to Estacada, and conduct a well-stocked lumber yard here." (The Estacada News)
May 23, 1907: "John Linn and daughter Jennie have gone up to the mill; some men are doing preparatory work, and soon the mill will be turning out some fine lumber for which the Linn Brothers' mill is justly known." (The Estacada News)
August 1, 1907: "A slight breach in the machinery at Linn Bros' mill made it necessary for Jim Linn to make a trip to Estacada Tuesday where the needed repairs were made." (The Estacada News)
October 10, 1907: "The Linn Brothers are hauling lumber in from their mill which will be sold to the retail trade. They expect to haul in a big quantity for the Winter trade." (The Estacada News)
