September 27, 1912: "The 'Calapooia Timber Company' is the name of a new corporation which filed its articles of incorporation at the County Clerk's office this morning.
The articles were signed by Geo. A. Mathews, James McCallum and C, C, Carter. The principal place of business is designated as Albany and the capital stock of the new corporation is placed at $250,000.00.
According to the articles, the purpose of the company is to purchase, lease, hire and otherwise acquire real estate and timber lands and to sell, mortgage, bond or otherwise dispose of the same and to manufacture, and carry on a business as saw mill proprietors and timber and lumber dealers."
