October 31, 1946: "Sawmill No. 2 of the Moore Lumber Products Company, located 1 1/2 miles south of O"Brien on the Redwood Highway, burned to the ground Friday night after the blaze started from an exploding light plant.
Damage, estimated at $50,000 by company officials, included machinery, structures, and about 30,000 board feet of lumber.
The pumper truck and crew from the Kerby State Forest Patrol station was unable to do more than stand by and protect other buildings as the mill burned itself out. No injury was reported to personnel of the mill, and living quarters near the fire were undamaged.

July 13, 1950: "The Moore Timber Products Company had a forest fire in their logging woods, Sunday, July 9. The fire burned 4 acres of slash and green timber one-half mile east of the Redwood Highway Quarantine Station. A heavy stand of green timber, down logs and logging equipment were threatened by the blaze.
The fire was reported to the Redwood Ranger Station by the Redwood Highway Quarantine Station, and was stopped by the crews of the State Fire Patrol, Moore Timber Products, and the U. S. Forest Service." (Illinois Valley News)

August 2, 1951: "The strike which has idled the Moore Timber products plants in Grants Pass and O'Brien since July 19 was settled Tuesday, with the announcement by Manager James Pack that a contract has been signed and pickets withdrawn. Operations were resumed yesterday morning.
The strike involved working conditions, and the wage schedule was not involved. Moore workers are represented by the Lumber and Saw Mill Worker's union, A. F. of L." (Illinois Valley News)

December 26, 1952: "Moore's Mill closed Saturday for the holidays, and will not resume operations until January 5. Each employee of the mill received a Christmas turkey this year, a gift from the owners." (Illinois Valley News)
