January 20, 1922: A Lumbering Survey: "Sawmill located one mile from Vaughan. Opening up to fill an order from S. P. Ry to cut ties. Capacity: 15M. Timber: Second growth mostly; some old growth fir. Own 40 acres of old growth not touched yet. No logging R.R., but have one donkey engine." (Lumber)
February 7, 1923: "The sale of a quarter section of timber in northwest quarter of section nine, township 18 south, range six west, in the Noti valley has been completed between the Elmira Lumber company and E. A. Snellstrom. The timber will be cut by Mr. Snellstrom for his mill in that vicinity. The mill loads lumber at the Vaughn station." (The Eugene Daily Guard)
August 14, 1926: "Joe Quinn, employe of the Snellstrom Lumber company at its camp near Noti, was brought to the Eugene hospital last night suffering from a cut on his leg. He was hit by a sky line while working at the camp yesterday afternoon.
