SUITORS LUMBER COUNTRY
Linnton
August 20, 1903: "The big sawmill of the Suitors Lumber Company, being erected across the river from St. Johns, is nearing completion. S. A. Star, one of the clerks, says that 500 tons of concrete were used in the foundations for machinery alone. The mill will have a cutting capacity of about 75,000 feet of lumber per day, which may be increased. It will be several weeks before the mill will be ready to commence running." (Morning Oregonian)
