November 6, 1926: "J. C. Fisher, 41, a logger employed by the Crossett-Western Lumber company, at their operation at Knappa near Astoria, was killed when he fell from a moving logging train under the wheels of cars behind." (The Advocate)
July 28, 1941: "The Crossett Western company announced today it had sold its sawmill and other property at Wauna to the Wauna Lumber company and would retire from lumber manufacturing. The firm will continue its timber and logging operations." (Medford Mail Tribune)
