February 18, 1919: "George H. Hoerr, who owns and operates two sawmills near Waterloo, is in the city today and reports that they are employing 50 men at present and that prospects are good for further active work." (Albany Democrat)
February 19, 1930: "Richard Morehead, aged about 40, while engaged in tearing down old buildings at the site of the Gerlick & Hoerr mill in the Happy Home district between Lacomb and Berlin, broke the large bone in one of his legs Tuesday when he fell with a tower which collapsed while he was on the structure.
The tower was about 18 feet tall and Morehead fell with it to the ground. He was brought to town and a local surgeon reduced the injury. He is in Lebanon hospital." (The Lebanon Express)
