January 1, 1905: "The W. W. Johnson Lumber Company, wealthy sawmill men of Minneapolis, are owners of the Dallas' leading manufacturing concern. George E. Johnson is resident manager. The company spent $75,000 in improvements in 1904---such as additional engines, boilers, machinery, lumber sheds, log ponds, dams, etc. Nearly the entire product is shipped to California and Eastern points."
