BORLAND-THOMAS SAWMILL

Josephine County - Grants Pass

July 20, 1921: "The Borland-Thomas sawmill a mile south of Grants Pass on Pacific highway, was burned to the ground yesterday in a blaze that swept unchecked through the mill and lumber piled in the yards. About 300,000 feet of pine and fir lumber was burned. Although no definite figures could be given, it is thought that the loss would be somewhere around $15,000 with insurance amounting to $8000."
