SEWELL & WYNN
Linn County - Lebanon
August 19, 1937: "Forty men were again at work in the Sewell and Wynn sawmill yesterday after settlement of a settlement of a labor dispute which during its existence saw the majority of mill employees on a five day strike and arrest of C. A. Paddock, union organizer, on a charge of disorderly conduct.
The complaint, filed Tuesday by J. F. Wynn, was dismissed Wednesday following the vote of employees to return to work.
The dispute was reported to have arisen over the discharge of an employee which allegedly violated a previous contract between mill and union, an A. F. of L. local. The employee, it was understood, has found work in Eugene.
Officers at the local mill announced that with settlement of the strike they were prepared to resume operations on the same if not larger scale than before." (The Lebanon Express)
