April 28, 1905: "The West Oregon Lumber Company, Clatskanie, has completed its conveyor system. Manager Kingsley will visit Idaho, Eastern Oregon and Utah, looking after orders shortly." (The Columbia Register)
September 29, 1905: "The West Oregon Lumber Co. is an incorporated company with E. D. Kingsley as Sec. Treas. and Manager. They have all up-to-date appliances for handling lumber from the tree to the finished product. They have their logging camp and saw mill in the mountains Southeast of town. The saw mill is connected with their planing mill in Clatskanie by four miles of flume down which the lumber comes from the sawmill to the planing mill in about ten minutes. This company's output of yellow fir, red cedar, and hemlock is 4,000,000 annually. They own their own switch, have a lumber shed with a capacity of one half million, and have the only lumber dry kiln in the county. Their product consists of all kinds of molding, casings, and finish lumber, as well as flooring and eastern siding of which they make a specialty. This company gives employment to fifty men and though this channel alone places in circulation here $3000 a month. Their product goes by rail from here to Idaho, Utah, Nebraska, Kansas, and other points." (The Columbia Register)
